Our Projects
The Rotary Club of Rutherglen undertakes many local and international projects on a continuing and one off basis.
Annual Local projects include such things as:
- Organising the Australia day celebrations for the Rutherglen community
- Co-ordinate the Good Friday Royal Childrens Hospital appeal for Rutherglen and district
- The Country Fair and Muscat Run on the Kings birthday weekend
- Lake King cleanup
- Youth projects - public speaking, Rotary Youth Exchange, VET catering, and the National Youth Science Forum
- Meals on wheels
Other Local projects that we get involved in include:
- Maintain and clean up monuments within Rutherglen
- Tree planting
- Assisting needy residents in Rutherglen
- Assisting local community groups within Rutherglen and district
International Projects include:
- Participated in the districts 'Build a Village' in the Phillipines
- The Fijian Rotahomes project where 7 members travelled Fiji and built a Rotahome,
- Rotary Foundation fund raising - Polio plus
- Aquabox water purification project
- Supplying a Shelter box during times of disaster
